Updates are cool, just cuz.

Not much really going on.

Working on getting the apartment reorganized. I have a co-worker who is mending his relationship with his wife and their 3 yr old. She just moved up here with little man, and they decided to try dating for a bit. Before we all knew it, they were getting a place together. Good for them. I have my reservations, but it's not my relationship. *shrug* A lot of drama there.....

Anyways. Niceguy and I happened to have quite a few extra things around the house we were looking to part with, and co-worker and his family had nothing and needed everything. They had two beds and a couch. Oh, and a stove-top rice cooker that they'd been using to cook everything in for the last few weeks. Yea, we can help with that.

So yesterday after a very frustrating wait for them to get their stuff in order and get over here, we parted with two recliners, two tv's, a bookshelf, two side tables, a couple of sets of dishes, and a large pot with lid. There will be more, but that's all I could dig out of the second bedroom in a couple of hours. They did only take one tv, we had a friend show up while we were waiting for co-worker, who took the other one off our hands.

So now that there is a small bit of walking room in the 2nd bedroom, we can finally get in to reorganize the 6 foot high, 8x8 pile. It's now down to about 5x8. I don't care, it's progress. I can actually reach all the camping gear now without having to climb over anything. And we may be able to more easily get the full-size and queen bed sets out of the room and dragged off to the dump.

So now that that's done, I have a 4-day weekend next weekend, and at least two of those days will be spent throwing stuff out. Rather excited about this.

Moving on.

I need a haircut.....

Yeppers.

Anyways, Verizon Wireless is moving to a tiered plan for their data packages on 7/7/11, which will make internet on a smart phone incredibly expensive. The only way around it, is to get on the unlimited plan before the changeover.

So, guess what?

Yep, I got a new phone. I was planning on upgrading sometime in the next few months anyway, since my old phone was a piece of ****, and wasn't a smart phone. Niceguy and I were both concerned at what a decent data plan would cost us on a new phone after the changeover with possible overages, fees, etc.... So, Friday night, not sure if it was intended to be a surprise, but right after work, he took me straight to a Verizon store, and insisted I pick out the phone I want. Knowing that I couldn't afford too much, he then proceeded to help me pay for it! *SHOCK!* He even bought me a pretty cover for it!

So anyways, I have a very cool new phone. All the bells and whistles, lots of nifty apps that Niceguy tossed on there for me. I love it, and still only use it for texting and phone calls. LOL

I'm sure the "smart-phone" bug will kick in hardcore eventually. *shrug* We'll see.

Niceguy is amazing! =)

So I tossed my name in for a sort of upgraded position at work, and shockingly enough, I got it. Still no motivation, but *shrug* it's something to do. No raise, no special title, I just get to be the "expert" for a few of our products. I'll get to write and perform training, and develop some help documents. Maybe a few days of work, with some occasional updating.

They keep asking me where I'm sitting in developing this stuff, and I keep responding with, "when are you going to give me the tools I need?" I asked for them the day I got told this was now my responsibility, and every other day since. I need access to the products before I can write anything about them. That's just my opinion I suppose.

I hate my job. It's a paycheck. *sigh*

And the work drama continues.... Dun dun dun....

So Niceguy got shafted at work. Most of the folks that read this blog already know about this, but figured I'd clue in the few that don't. Basically, Niceguy is working as a contracted temp for my last employer. Everyone knows I'm sour on them, well Niceguy got to experience it first-hand. I wish he hadn't...

Basically, it came conversion time for some of the contractors, and there was one opening. Niceguy was the most logical choice, based on performance and contract time served. There was however, one young lady that started the same day as him, and was also just transferred to his team. One opening, and it was only on his team. So, this presented some slight competition, but based on performance, he was still a shoe-in . Or so we thought.

Turns out, the manager who makes the decision is a personal friend of this young lady, and months ago, he'd promised her this spot. Guess what? Yep. Anyways....

So now, we're brushing off BOTH of our resumes, and trying to find him something better. Where he can be appreciated. We are both so very tired of the office politics and unnecessary drama of offices that act like high school cliques. So very done.

Speaking of drama....

Yea, it never seems to end. I swear....

There is no nice way to say it, so I'm not going to. See? I can be an adult about stuff. lol

Be and adult AND not act like a spoiled child when I don't get my way.

Anyways, moving on.

More hat orders coming in all the time. On a whim, I made a blue and black striped hat, like the green/black from my last post. I loved it, thought it was awesome. A friend stopped by, and I showed it off, and then he whipped out cash and insisted on buying it. lol So very cool!

My maters are looking amazing! Only two weeks since the last picture, and they've more than doubled in size again!

So with that, I'll wish everyone a Happy 4th! Stay safe!

Forgot to mention how excited I was to see that your plants are doing well! Ours have finally taken root, so to speak, and best of all I actually think the Okra is going to survive. I had my doubts until yesterday when I checked it again and sure enough!, there are new leafes on the plants. So heres to an upcoming evening with fried okra as the main veggie dish! Yummmmmmmuuuuum.
