Interesting weekend....

So Pseudo and I talked last night. Sux, it was at work, but I explained it's the only time he ever gives me.... While he got noticeably angry, he would almost shout, then calm back down. Something I have always appreciated from him, as he knows I have panic attacks when people yell at me. He says "we can fix this." I hope he's right. I really want to try....
Anyway, the real reason for this evening/mornings blog, is far more an advertisement or review, than it is a moment to reflect.
Ok, I have crabby cats. They take after their momma, what can I say.... I go one day past due on the litter box, and they pee on the bed. I leave town for more than a day, and they poo on the bed. Needless to say, the litter box is almost always clean.
Now, understand, my mattress was $1900. I'm not about to just toss it because it smells bad. That's what showers are for in the morning. And honestly, it's been very motivating to get my ass out of bed in the mornings. Frankly though, I was getting really tired of the smells. Especially when I was sick, and would sweat from the fever.... Good god, it was like sleeping in the litter box.

Anyway, onto my little product placement story....
I have tried MULTIPLE pet specific products from Petco, Petsmart, Walmart, various other stores, and even a vet. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, worked. It would cover up the smell for a couple of days, then it would be back. And of course the stain always remained.

So recently, both of my cats got a little ill. Bad food, long story. Thank you Oregon blizzard.... *grumble*
Anyway, I'd been using the Resolve Dual Power to get the puke stains out of the carpet, and it was amazing stuff. You squeeze the snot outta the bottle, and the two liquids mix, foaming up on the carpet. You wait a few minutes, and with a damp cloth, gently scrub the foam in. Yes it will foam up more. After a few hours of drying, you have a stiff mess. Walk on it, vacuum it, comb it, rake it, who cares, it'll soften and look normal in no time.
Since this stuff did so well on the carpet, I thought I'd give it a shot on my poor abused bed.

Since the mattress was so expensive, I only did a portion of the area that needed to be done. But you can tell from the pictures, in the upper right the stain is MUCH lighter now, if not gone in some areas. It used to all be the same color. AND, the best part, the smell is GONE! And I do not mean replaced by an overly strong carpet cleaner odor. I mean GONE! It smells like a brand new mattress.

After scrubbing it in, I let it air dry for 8 hours. Then I turned my fan on it. After 12 hours, it was bone dry, and smelling like a fresh breeze. I am so thrilled.

Because of the kind of bed it is, a sleep number, I am able to remove the pillow top, and check underneath. No smell there either! YAY!

Next weekend, I'm going to finish the remainder of the combined stains, go over the now smell-free barely visible stains again, and try the nose-bleed stain that Bill so kindly left on the mattress years ago. Maybe I'll even hit his drool spots...... lol

Anyway, just thought I'd share!

Now, I really need to get to bed. Need to be up for work soon. Love to all!

drool stains??? yuk!

Thrilled that the "Resolve" worked on the stains and smell. Does it really work on carpet urine stains? Jake has so thoughtfully made little deposits around the house and on the skirt of the couch.

Love, Mom
