Weekend!

Have a 3-day weekend this week. So excited!

Well sorta....

Lots of cleaning on Saturday. It's needed. Still having to do laundry by hand. Mostly....

We will eventually get a new washer and dryer, just may take a while. Probably attempt to convince Niceguy to do a laundromat for a few loads. A load of laundry takes about 5 hours now, with quite a bit of attention until it hits the dryer. Then I can relax in between restarts. I miss the 2 hour loads. lol

The kitchen is still in desperate need of attention. We still have boxes scattered about, and those that were unpacked, found their way to the counter-tops. So no space to do anything. We've been making the most of it.

Still boxes everywhere but the living room, since that's where we spend most of our time.

After all the cleaning, have a BBQ with Bestie and her man on Sunday evening. Excited about that! The man makes awesome BBQ and fabulous drinks! So that'll be fun and relaxing.

Monday is just a day for us. Just to relax. Niceguy will probably play video games all day, and after the cleaning I may actually have some yarn to play with. I could try to finish the baby afghans I haven't touched in two months. Baby is due in a few weeks, so they need to get done.

Work-------------

Work has been a challenge this week. It's a nice change, but at the same time, the way the challenges were presented could have been better. I'm not one to take overly negative feedback well. There are ways to deliver feedback. Snippy and rude are not listed. Especially when something super minor is treated like an apocalyptic event. After being told that this was a repeating issue with me, I got a little defensive. This was the first time. I am always prompt to deliver what's requested of me. I am not a slacker, and I will not be treated as such.

I explained this was the first time we'd had this discussion. I always perform this particular task daily; I had simply missed one step at the end of the day before, and had taken care of it 10 minutes prior to the conversation which was 10 minutes after I'd gotten in for the day. I apologized, and said it would not occur again.

Still got snipped at, but all was resolved. Started the day off on a bad note, but whatever. Don't accuse, and don't make assumptions. Give me constructive feedback regardless of whether it's positive or negative, and we'll all be happy. Still better than my last job. *shrug*

Home-----------

Everything is great at home. Calm and relaxed. Still lacking for money, but that doesn't stop us from having fun.

Niceguy is wonderful as always, and I look forward to getting home with him every night.

Lizzie hates him. Everyone knows she's a cranky old bat, but she really REALLY hates him. He gets within 10 feet of her, and she's hissing and spitting at him. She cornered herself, and started swatting at his legs and feet when he sat down at the desk. She was tucked way in the back under the side table, so he had no way of knowing she was there until she started growling at him. Apparently he scared her so bad, she pooped on the floor. We're both now making a much bigger effort to keep her calm. He enters the room, and I will hide him from her, and then usher her out. He's attempting to avoid her completely, but when he can't, he tries to talk sweetly to her, and stay out of her way. She's so old at this point, I'm worried he's going to give her a heart attack. I know though, that this is going to take time. If it happens at all. We shall see..... He's trying though.

Malcolm loves him! Just adores him! I have some awesome pictures; I'll try to get one uploaded later on.

So that's all for now. Have a touch of work left to do today before I bail for the weekend. I hope that everyone has an amazing July 4th! Blow some stuff up for me!

Love to all!
