A Birthday, Anniversary, and Truck updates...

So my birthday weekend has come and gone, and the realization that I am a year older has sunk in and daily life has resumed. Yes, a year older. The difference from one day to the next was almost impossible to distinguish, but the knowledge that I am a year closer to "old" took a little getting used to.

I wake up the same as I did the day before, in pain. But a couple of snaps and some creative twisting and stretching, and I feel 25 again for a few minutes. I took a few minutes to look back and recognize how different 25 and 33 feel. Meh, back to the dishes and laundry. Then 45 minutes later, stretch, twist, pop, snap. Yep, I'm feeling it.

Anyways....

We spent the 24th and 25th at the beach, exploring more cemeteries and doing some light shopping. Found some really great sites. One cemetery in Waldport, OR that had only about 15-25 gravesites. It appeared to be maintained by the neighborhood, as it was not attached to a mortuary or anything. It was clean and small, nice flowers, and right next to a skate-park. Weird location, but very cool. There were graves ranging from the 19-teens to the last decade, so it's still ongoing. We're thinking maybe a family plot. Still neat though.

There was one in Newport, OR that we attempted to find, but it's apparently up in the trees on a huge hill in between the highway, and it's park-like on-ramp, with no place to park. We're going to try that one another trip, when it's not pouring, and we can park somewhere nearby and walk.

I got a puzzle tetrahedron that I'd been wanting for years, for my birthday, which was awesome. I played with it on the drive back from the beach until it made me car-sick, and now, I'm waiting for the swelling in my fingers to go down from the constant twisting and turning you need to perform to solve the puzzle. Still very very cool!

Our left turn signal went out completely while we were at the coast, so we stopped in to Oil Can Henry's, and got the unfortunate news that it wasn't a bulb.... Dun dun dun.... They also did a quick check of many of the things that should have been covered in the dealership's "120 point inspection," then gave us a list of everything that was NOT okay.

We stopped at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum on our way back. We'd passed by it many times, but hadn't gone inside. Well, we went in, and instead of dropping $40 for the visit, we dropped $100 for a 1 year membership to it, and hundreds of other museums around the country. Not a bad deal!

So once we'd finished our tour(pictures coming), we headed back to town to hit up the dealership.

Upon arrival, Niceguy requested to speak with the Sales Manager, as there were some claims regarding our pretty new truck that were untrue, and we needed some stuff fixed.

The guy we were speaking to, disappeared, and came back stating he'd "spoken" to the Asst. Sales Manager, and he had approved repairs at cost. Anything to make us happy, he said. Whatever.... (They better review the warranty....)

So they jotted everything down, and we scheduled the appointment for today, 7:15am, with a rental car.

So we get there, the repair guy is ready for us, the rental is not. *sigh* 7:55, he shows up with the car, 8:15, we're done filling out the paperwork and off to work...

We were told she'd be ready around 5pm. She was done by 1:45, and it was free. Damn straight!!!

Niceguy went and picked her up, and I'm just waiting to get off work, so I can see her shiny new coat. =)

Here's hoping!!!

Love to all!!
