Well, the Etsy store is up. We're both very excited about this. I'm trying to keep an open-mind, and maintain an upbeat attitude, but there are a few hundred-thousand stores on Etsy, so word-of-mouth is what I've got. We're sharing the news with everyone we know. I'm also planning to start branching out.
We looked up details for starting our own Tart/Candle business. I've been playing with wax and working with candles since before my family moved from Texas to Colorado, so this has really been something in the making. Many many years.
The investment isn't much at all. I'm hoping in a few months, we'll have the money we need. In the mean time, we're looking to start selling the tart stock that I currently have. One step at a time, right? =)
Checking out details on shrink-wrap, cheap plastic containers, molds, and other supplies. I want to make sure we get the best deal, so the time we're taking to save up will really be to our benefit.
I actually think Niceguy was a bit more excited about it than I was. I found a wholesale site and was bawking at the cost of start-up, which is minimal considering what we'd be getting which includes 50 lbs of soy wax, and he was practically jumping off the couch after figuring out the profits, nearly shouting "We can really do this!"
It was cute. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If we sell ALL of the tarts I currently have, and a couple of hats, we're good. If we sell all the hats I plan to have up on Etsy by the middle of November, we'll have enough to double that investment.
This is so exciting! Anyways.... =)
Niceguy got converted at work. He's very happy! Enrolled in medical benefits, raise kicked in and first partial paycheck on it's way. He's already got ideas on how he wants to spend his first bonus.
We started our new schedules, and I, my "new" job title of craptastic Tier 1 support. It's weird being demoted, without being demoted. They decided to "restructure" technical support. Three people got selected to inherit the title of Tier 2, and the rest of us are Tier 1. If the issue is beyond "Hi, do you need to format or install cd burning software," then we are to transfer the call. Seriously.... This is my job now....
Oh yay.....
Anyways. Cats are healthy and appear to be content. Aside from Frankie peeing on the bed occasionally, he's very energetic and full of life. Lizzie is old and cranky. I don't expect any different from her.
Life in general is pretty good. We're still not smoking. The walking has lessened the last week or so. We're both tired. I've been sneaking in half-mile walks on my breaks at work, which seems to have helped the soreness in my calves. =)
Gotta run, we're making Italian Quesadillas for dinner! (*My idea!*) We'll see how it turns out!
Love to all!!!!
