I can't go into too much detail because of the semi-personal nature of what I'm about to say, but I can say, it's AWESOME!
So let me begin with I am no longer worried about my finances, even with all the overdrafts I accrued in the last 6 days.
After getting Niceguy's check in the bank, I waited 48 hours for the three overdrafts I received THAT day to fall off. My understanding, and what I've experienced from banks in the past, is if you deposit the funds the same day the charges went through, then the overdrafts would be voided.
Anyways, so I called my bank. I got told that I was mistaken, but that they could make a one-time request for me. *snort* Whatever.... The guy on the phone was VERY nice, but since he didn't tell me what I wanted to hear, I was ready to go start searching for a new bank.
Three minutes after we ended our call, he called me back. I had explained my situation in detail, what could he want? He wants to suggest an alternative to overdraft fees. After hearing his speech, I figured what they hey, right? Run my credit, it's awful now so I'm going to get denied, and if I don't, yippy, life is a tad easier.
He explained to me, that they do not send overdraft reports to credit reporting agencies. That overdrafting is a service. A convenience they offer for those situations where life presents an unexpected hurdle. *perk* What? So the 50+ overdrafts I've had in the last few months are not on my credit? Apparently not. *hope*
So he transfers me to the loan department to complete "the process" of getting me that help I so desperately needed.
I get this delightful woman on the phone, again, very very nice. She explains the details of what I'm applying for, and asks me to confirm. Well hell yea, confirm me woman! I'm in a much better place than I was 20 minutes ago when I thought my credit was in the toilet.
Less than a minute later, she tells me I'm approved.
Yippy!
My number is excellent.
*cough* What?
"Yea, your number is ..."
*choke* What?!
"Yea. *chuckle* You were expecting something else?"
Well hell yea I was! WOW!
"Well, with that you qualified for the lowest interest rate we offer."
Seriously?! *blink blink blink* Is that really my number?
"Sure is. I'll be sending you some paperwork....."
*number number number* Um, okay. Sure. Okay. Thanks for your time. You too....
*blink blink blink*
Hey Niceguy! Guess what!!!!!
lol, that was easily some of the best news I've had in a LONG time. I can start actually thinking long-term, instead of planning for next month. w00t! I slept better that night than I have in a LONG time. Life is good!
Talked to Niceguy's Mom last night. We were discussing homes and getting a dog. All stuff we've talked about before. Imagine my shock when she pops out, "You guys can get a nice house, a newer car, and then GRANDBABIES!!!" *choke*
Still recovering from that. lol
I explained that's a little ways down the road, as we're hoping for the house and car first. One thing at a time. She agreed, but was more than just a tad giggly about it.
WOW.....
So yea, the last few days have been interesting.
Niceguy has been extremely goofy and playful lately. Catching me off-guard a lot. I finally asked him what was up.
"I'm just very very happy, and expressing it."
Awwwwwwwwwwww
And with that, I'll attempt to get back to work!
Love to all!

Added note 4:41pm: So I just got the call back from my bank. They reversed two of my three overdrafts because and I quote, "It's obvious that you don't typically get overdrawn, and we understand these were extenuating circumstances, so we went ahead and refunded two of those fees. This is not something we typically do, but because you've been a member for so long with no overdrafts, we understand some unexpected situations will occur."
I almost laughed at the girl, but I didn't want her to change her mind. What kind of bank tells someone they reviewed their account, but doesn't? This concerns me a bit. Oh well, I got $50 back. *shrug*

Sometimes its best to not bite the hand that is feeding you but to give it a loving nudge...
